1983 Williams "Firepower II"
Started: September 2006
Finished: December 2007

What do you do when you find two of the same machine, and both of them are so far gone that there is no hope to get them working? Naturally you make one great machine out of the two, which is exactly what we have here. With a name like Firepower 2 itís only fitting that we used two machines to get one good one. Our first machine was pretty rough, It had a good cabinet, but the Playfield was a mess! Much of the art in the center was gone, and someone tried to repaint it with less than spectacular results. Our second machines's playfield was not perfect, but it was drastically better. Since the cabinet of the second machine needed a lot of work to make it structually sound, We put the good playfield in the good cabinet and mad a decent machine for restoration out of the two.

Over the next few weeks of the restoration we cherry picked the best parts from each machine, replacing many of the broken playfield plastics, damaged or rusty metal parts, right down to the bast score and instruction cards. After many of the cosmetic issues were taken care of, we moved onto the electronics, aside from a dead board set, there were a lot of interesting hacks, including some hot wiring to hook the coin switches up to the sound board. I'm not sure why you would want to do this, but it realy caused a lot of dammage to the boards. We removed all the creative wiring, got the boards running, and ended up with a great playing machine.
